Quit “Ducking” Surveys!

I don’t know if someone in the marketing/public relations department was hungover that day or just feeling lazy but the good folks at ProOpinion wanted my input on their website and I felt more than obliged to help them out.

First off if you are like me you run at the first chance you get when someone asks you to fill out a survey unless it’s a chance for Katy Perry tickets or an all-expenses paid vacation somewhere.  Even online customer service surveys I avoid like I’m covered in honey at a fire ant convention.  Did you know though that businesses and companies take the data from surveys and try and better their goods and services to us with the information they receive?  Customer service surveys are designed to make sure have to pound your head against a wall a minimal number of times after spending 20 minutes chatting with someone that is more than likely India and getting the same answer over and over again.  It’s frustrating, but at least they are trying to do something about it.

Well at ProOpinion there is actually a reward for your pondering mind and what your opinion is on all things.  It’s free and easy to sign up for an account and once you are confirmed you can survey until you fall asleep or another episode of The Walking Dead is about to come on.  With each survey you fill out you amass points that you can later redeem for Amazon.com Gift Cards.  Easy enough, fill out a survey on your favorite day of the week to walk and chew gum, BAM you are on your way to ordering a hamster spy novella from Gary Mathews (yet to be released, published, or written), but you get the point.

I’ve personally tried it and yes some of the surveys are extensive and take 15-20 minutes but the longer the survey the more points you amass.  Think of it this way instead of scrolling for 15 minutes complaining about your social media feed, just eliminate that jump on your ProOpinion account and make that 15 minutes productive.  It will cut down on your distant cousin posting baby pictures over and over that you look at your spouse and say “Dang it will she stop already”, instead you could be earning more points to buy your new little bundle of joy cousin a three pack of onesies from Amazon.

So quit listening to me, go see for yourself!  You can follow them on Twitter @ProOpinions and feel free to throw the #ProOpinion on any tweet you may have for them.  That it’s for me I’m off to go see if I can earn some more points for some Katy Perry pajamas I saw on sale!
